5 Tips On How To Reduce Stress During The Holidays

Thursday, December 26th, 2013 by Marqui Linden

The holidays are most everyone’s favorite time of the year. Feeling thankful, festive, and sitting by a warm fire surrounded by your loved ones. But let’s be real, that’s not always the case. As enjoyable as this time of year is, it can also be very stressful! Trying to make it to everyone’s parties, seeing all sides of the family, to make everyone happy. It’s basically impossible! Being the child of divorced parents, I know exactly how difficult it can be to make things fair during this busy season. Although in the end, be thankful. Not everyone is lucky enough to be so in demand for the holidays. ūüôā

Here is a few essential tips on how to juggle stress of the holidays!

1. Don’t stress about being fair…¬†everyone has a different relationship with certain family members. Make each situation as equal as possible. But when it all comes down to it, you have the power to choose who you want to spend that special time with.

2. Consider bringing everyone together… we all know this may not always work or be the best idea. Although if it is at all possible to have everyone in one place at the same time, this will definitely cut back on some unwanted stress. That way you don’t feel like you have to cut your time short with someone to rush over to the next gift opening session.

3.¬†Be real about your finances… money is another prominent source of stress at this time of the year. Do with what you can and what is realistic for you and your pocket book. Just be honest with loved ones if money is an issue. It truly is the thought that counts.

4.¬†Avoid disputes… even if you have that weird uncle or a annoying cousin, just take a deep breath and remember that you want to celebrate the holidays in good spirits. Don’t let even one negative comment ruin that!

5.¬†Try to relax and count your blessings… stop worrying and make the most of it! Embrace the times and welcome all connections with your loved ones. Remember the ones that are no longer with us and enjoy this amazing time of the year with the people you love.

Happy Holidays!

Whats Changed:

Buriti oil, harvested from Brazil, was added  to help maximize the moisture in the hair, leaving it soft and shinny. Another added ingredient is Pomegranate emollient, which acts as a protective barrier, sealing this moisture into the hair shaft.  Enjoy the new  100% organic aroma,  as well as the environmentally friendly BioPlastic packaging. What is BioPlastic? It is a resin made from sugarcane. You will also notice the new modern look with the package design.

New Product:

New to the Dry Remedy line is the  Moisturizing Daily Oil Treatment. This product restores shine, controls frizz and flyways, while being 99.9% naturally derived. The Dry Remedy Moisturizing Daily Oil Treatment is formulated without silicones for maximum moisture absorption. In fact, it can instantly increase the moisture in your hair by up to 41%!

New York Fashion Week for Spring 2014

Monday, September 23rd, 2013 by Shayna Barnette

Mercedes Benz Fashion Week for Spring 2014 has come and gone… 90’s inspired looks filled the runways. You will feel a certain nostalgia as you see crop tops, harem pants, floral patterns and sheer fabrics, worn with simple hair styles featuring center parts and a somewhat greasy ¬†appearance.

Boyish tailoring was seen in collections from Victoria Beckham, 3.1 Phillip Lim and Thakoon’s, amongst others. The colors that ruled the runways were black & white, hints of pink, icy pastels, metallics and white.

Here are some highlights from this years #MBNYFW!

I think one of the most fascinating shows was by Thom Browne. His gothic collection and “Joker” style make-up made for an eye catching and entertaining show!
